Healthcare Conversations: Leading with Ethics

Healthcare professionals have to make split-second decisions that can be a matter of life and death. Doctors, nurses, and other staff can also be under pressure by those in positions of authority. What happens when someone in a position of authority is asking you to do something that you know is wrong, and a patient’s life is on the line? How do you stand up to power? Is there a right or wrong answer? Having the right ethical skills training can make the difference between good and bad decisions for everyone involved.

Join us for a webinar on Tuesday May 4th, at 10:00 AM MDT – 10:55 AM MDT. Rulon Stacey, leader in the healthcare community, will discuss important ethical lessons he has learned as a healthcare professional.

Rulon Stacey is the director of graduate programs in health administration at the Business School at CU Denver. During his tenure, he received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award—a recognition established by Congress to commend U.S. companies that have implemented successful quality management systems. He became the inaugural CEO of the newly formed, University of Colorado Health (UCHealth). Rulon currently serves as the Chair of the CEO Circle of the International Hospital Federation. His strong ethical influence continues to change lives, as he advocates for quality health care for patients, administration, and the community.
